Condo not so minio
We spent our first full day here in and around the condo. It was the first day we've had in Mexico without planned activities and a schedule.
I got up early and explored a bit. The second pool here is kind of hidden, and takes some searching to find. It also seems to be empty most of the time. The view is spectacular, with all of Cabo, the mountains, the beach we were on last night, and lots of boats coming and going all the time. It has an infinity pool, 4 water features, a sloping beach area, and also has a swim up bar and grill, but apparently it's not used in the off season.
I took Sam and then Sarah there this morning and they like it almost as much as the other pool. They swam and jumped a while, and enjoyed the cooler water and shade of the west-facing pool.

We had some quick sandwiches and then headed down to the private beach. It's kind of rocky and has crashing surf even at low tide. The foot-long sea bass fish come right up to you in the clear water.
It was really hot and the sun very fierce in the early afternoon, so we returned to the central pool for a while and had a swim-up drink. The bartender made some smoothies for the girls, a drink for me and a coke for Sam, then took our picture.

The kids loved sitting on the underwater stools. After that we headed to the infinity pool for a while,

and then had some quiet time in the AC until the hottest part of the day passed.

We decided to give it a try. They had sea bass (it seems to be the staple fish here) cooked 4 different ways: fried in a light cornmeal coating, grilled with a butter sauce, fish soup with vegetables, and sashimi (raw and sliced thin). There was also guacamole and hand made fried and steamed tortillas, rice, cole slaw, and pickled red cabbage. It was all delicious and ate our fill and enjoyed every bite. As the sun started to set we headed back to the west-facing pool. The kids swam some more, and then we walked down to the beach below the pool where some surfers were still going at it. The sky was gorgeous as the light started to fade.
It was a nice relaxed day and a nice way to get to know this place. Tomorrow we'll go exploring downtown and try out the big beach that has a much more swim-able character to it. Buenos Noches!
